Funding Plan

PLANNING FOR SUCCESS

Funding for non-profit organizations is challenging.  It is also rewarding.  The opportunity to recieve and utilize so many incredible talents and generously shared treasures for the use of impacting families and entire communities is truly a gift.  To achieve its commitment to providing meaningful and rewarding activities and experiences to young people and their parents, CYO employs a diverse set of fundraising strategies.

PROGRAM FUNDING

Friends of CYO – this is an on-line giving opportunity of a one time contribution or a monthly subscription.  Several special events for our FRIENDS are planned during the year to celebrate this grassroots level of support.

Participants Contributions – participants are asked to make a minimal financial contribution to cover some of the consumable costs of the program.  They are also asks to volunteer wtih fundraising events.

Fundraising Events – events are held throughout the year and include The Maverick held each spring, on-line raffles at www.cyoraffles.com a fall new and used equipment sale called The GOOSe.

Grants – CYO actively pursues grant opportunities with private and public foundations and charitable trusts.

Endowments – contributions to an endowment fund established to help sustain and perpetuate CYO programming are always welcome.  These may come in the form of personal or corporate gifts or through estate giving.

FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT FUNDING

In addition to those funds necessary to fund CYO’s programs, there are also opportunities to be involved in the development of The Regional Educational Facility at Swift Ponds.  We recently received funds from Great Outdoor Colorado to be used toward the completion of Phase 1 development.  This phase includes the Erion Outdoor Educational Pavillion, permanent restroom facilities and a handicap accessible fishing dock.

If you would like more information about this project or about making contributions to the facility through an in-kind contribution or its endowment fund, please contact Bob Hewson at bhewson@coloradoyo.org.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUPPORT

From Friends of CYO to giving to one of our capital campaigns, opportunities to get involved with Colorado Youth Outdoors exist at any level. These valuable gifts allow CYO to continue building organizational capacity while introducing the program to communities throughout the state.

All contributors have the satisfaction of knowing that their gifts have helped shape a natural connection between youth and parents.  With your gift CYO can in turn give the gift of time to families, introducing them to traditional outdoor experiences that promote life-long participation.

CYO believes in partnerships and is regularly looking for opportunities to connect with others who are passionate about families and the outdoors.  For more information on how you can contribute to the mission and success of Colorado Youth Outdoors, please contact us at (970) 663-0800 or email Bob at bhewson@coloradoyo.org. Thank you for your interest!
